As well as building your perfect mobile friendly website, we also offer Website Hosting and Design for Singers & Musicians with basic website maintenance. Our design package includes 6 months free hosting after which time we charge €9.99 a month to host your site.
Our hosting rates are for sites we produce. They are a very competitive €9.99 a month with no long contract. You can move host at any time.
We recommend that all our clients register their domain name with an independent register. This will make all future changes and transfers much easier.
Domain registration
Anyone can buy a domain name. You just need to visit a domain name registrar, we often use Dynadot. There you can check if the name you want to buy is available and just pay the appropriate fee. Be sure to check terms and conditions and especially renewal costs which may vary between registrars.
Did you know the “dot” bit of the domain name is called the top-level domain or TLD? That’s one for the next table quiz.
There are many TLDs available for sale, including .com, .vip, .game, .ie, .shop, .net, and .org. Some like “.ie” require you to prove a commercial connection with the country associated with the TDL. The most famous TDL by far is of course .com, which once indicated commercial sites, but has come to include almost any type of website. It might seem obvious, but don’t buy a “.co.uk” or “.de” if you don’t trade in the UK or Germany.
The jury is out on whether you should use .vip!
The best domain name for you
Not every domain name will be available and the price will change depending on whether it is dot com or dot something else. In general, you’ll want to buy something that is memorable, short and easy to type. It could be your own name or a reflection of the service you offer.
You might also want to do some research on key terms for your business and location. If you can get a good search term into your site’s name, that’s advantageous, from an SEO perspective.
Do I need a website hosting and design service?
You need a place for your website to exist but not everyone will need to purchase website hosting and design support from us. If you have your own domain name and hosting already, we can build your website and upload it to your old service, provided that you can give us access to your hosting and that your current host is able to run WordPress with FTP or cPanel access. We will not be able to maintain or update your installation after you receive the site.
If you are computer savvy and you are comfortable uploading and editing files on your server then you might choose this option.
What are the terms of your website hosting and design?
In summary: we provide website hosting and design. We are not responsible for the material you host but we will cancel the hosting of inappropriate or offensive material without notice. While you can add posts and update your concert information and testimonials, we do limit the ability for you to accidentally corrupt or ruin your sites design while hosted with us. We endeavour to update all our hosted sites and usability is guaranteed for 24 months for Singers Sites hosted sites.
You should make a backup of your site on a regular basis but we also keep backups. Most designs should be fresh and relevant for 3 to 5 years but as no one knows what fashion will bring you might think of a redesign after this time. All hosting is paid monthly in advance you can cancel at any time.
What do I get from your website hosting and design support?
You should choose our website hosting and design support if you either don’t have your own hosting and domain and/or you are not comfortable with tricky computer bits. Our pricing is less than most comparable website builders and website hosting and design services and the biggest benefit is that you can easily get in touch with our friendly support team.
If you host with us we will manage your updates and maintain your SSL certification. All of your files are securely stored on our server and you won’t have to worry about any technical issues at all!
Can I move website hosting and keep my design?
Not a problem, you can have control of the site all the time and we don’t require notice. Because the transfer of sites wipes all files from our server, we will have to make a copy of the site for you to upload once you have your own hosting running.
The transfer fee is €75 and includes cloud drop of materials anywhere in the world. Site and DNS transfers can take a while and during this time your site might experience some down time.
